The Biorex Diagnostics CRP Latex test is a rapid slide agglutination test for the qualitative and semi-quantitative detection of C-Reactive Protein in serum. The reagent containing particles coated with specific anti-human C-Reactive protein antibodies, agglutinates in the presence of CRP in the patient’s serum.
CRP is the classic acute-phase protein of human serum, synthesised in the liver. Apart from a significant increase in normal serum due to inflammation or acute injury, CRP helps in the management of inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, many malignant diseases and cardiovascular diseases.
