Antibodies to thyroid Peroxidase ha (95%), idiopathic myedema (90%) and Graves Disease (80%). In fact 72% of patients positive for anti-TPO exhibit some degree of thyroid dysfunction.  This has lead to the clinical measurement becoming a valuable tool in the diagnosis of thyroid dysfunction.

The Biorex Diagnostics Anti-Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) kit is a colorimetric enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the quantitative determination of TPO autoantibodies in human serum or plasma. Measurements of TPO autoantibodies may aid in the diagnosis of certian thyroid diseases such as Hashimoto’s and Graves’ as well as nontoxic goitre.
