Fructosamine is a time-averaged indicator of blood glucose levels and is used to assess the glycaemic status of diabetics.

The Biorex Diagnostics Fructosamine kit is an in vitro test for the quantitative determination of glycated protein (fructosamine) in human serum and plasma on automated clinical chemistry analysers. Measurement of fructosamine may be a suitable alternative to measurement of HbA1c in patients with Hb variants.
