The malarial infection is caused by four species of Plasmodium parasite, P.falciparum, P.vivax, P.Ovale and P.malariae. Detection of specific panel of antibodies produced by infection of viable parasites indicates the status of the anti-malarial therapy.

The Biorex Diagnostics Malaria tests are intended for use in the qualitative detection of Malaria specific antigen or antibody in whole blood (antigen kit) serum or plasma by a Microwell Enzyme Immunoassay.
