The Chloride Assay is used to detect electrolyte imbalances of Chloride within the blood for the diagnosis of certain conditions. Hypochloraemia is an electrolyte imbalance caused as a result of low levels of chloride in the blood.

Biorex Diagnostics manufactures Chloride reagents designed for Hitachi 917 and Olympus AU600/400/640/2700 systems.
