The Biorex Diagnostics Prealbumin test is intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of human Prealbumin in serum and plasma.

Prealbumin is a tryptophan rich protein which is synthesised in hepatocytes. Reduced serum prealbumin levels indicate acute liver damage or dietary protein deficiency.
