The Biorex Diagnostics Myoglobin assay is intended for use in the quantitative in vitro determination of myoglobin in human serum, plasma or urine.

Myoglobin is an oxygen binding haem-protein found in cardiac and skeletal muscle. The rapid increase in the concentration of myoglobin after muscular trauma makes it an important diagnostic indicator of cardiac stress and muscle damage, and provides skeletal muscle. Measurement of myoglobin is used as an aid in the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction.
