The Biorex Diagnostics Cystatin C assay is intended for use in the measurement of Cyastatin C in serum. Cystatin C in the sample binds to the specific anti-Cystatin C antibody, which is coated on the latex particles and causes agglutination. The degree of turbidity is directly proportional to the concentration of Cystatin C in the sample and is measured photometrically. Calculation of concentration is performed by interpolation of the absorbance on a 6 point calibration curve.
